what can i do to help my little girl start crawling

she is 5 months and is trying to craw but can't quit figure it out

  • My oldest son did everything at once. I suggest tummy time. Truth be told that they will do it when they are ready. As soon as mine started to crawl it was only a matter of a mth or so that they stood up and walked.

  • put a toy in front of her that she likes

  • LOTS of tummy time. like the pp said, put a toy in front of her, but just out of her reach so she will try to push toward it, most kids start "scooting" backward first, so don't worry if she does that.

  • five months is young enough that she may not be ready for crawling. give her time.

  • When my daughter was 5 months I was sure she was going to crawl when I saw her trying. She is now 9 months and still not technically crawling. I'm sure your daughter will find other ways to get around until she learns but don't push it. Bliss (my daughter) crawls backwards, scoots on her bottom and rolls. It's actually pretty amusing!
