  • Try 3.5 oz, there really isnt' anything you can do, these days she's too young for rice cereal

  • I agree. make a 4oz. bottle but only give her 3.5...which is alot easier than trying to measure out the uneven formula. She might require more and 3oz. is not too much....if shes hungry its never too much at this stage. and yeah dont try rice cereal in her sure you will get some posts recommending that but its not a good solution and can have some serious consequences.

  • burp her partway though the feeding, so she won't have gas bubbles making her spit up so much. She might be going through a growth spurt that makes her need to eat more, but she will also want to suck more if her tummy is uncomfortable because of swalling too much air.

  • burp her in the middle of the 4 0z bottle and take it away before it is finished, What kind of bottles are you using? I have found if they swallow too much air, they spit up. She also may just like the soothing of the nipple, I am not a big pacifier fan, but in this case you might try it and see if it soothes her, or if she still wants more! Good luck!

  • twotwinsmom it's not that you physically can't give them cereal in their bottle it's that you medically shouldn't. Not unless it is prescribed by a doctor to sooth acid reflux. To the OP I would suggest just burping her really well half way through the bottle, if she's still hungry this should help with her spitting up so much.

  • twotwinsmom...well your answer was hog wash in my opinion. There is all the research against giving a baby cereal at such a young age, and especially from a bottle (notice bottles are not made to have cereal coming out of them) and all the research for waiting until a baby is at least 4 months and showing signs of being ready for cereal. I dont want to say your a bad mom or anything like that ,but seriously, are you living in a hole? You gave your babies cereal in their bottles up until the time they went to regular milk? Thats a whole different mistake in itself bc the point of solid foods is to teach how to eat, FROM A SPOON, not to fill the baby up really good so they will shut up. It can cause serious problems.
