What kind of questions should he ask?

My kid's father is going to look at some daycares today for our 2 and 4 year old. I want him to ask all the right questions but I'm drawing a blank! What should he ask them to make sure it is the right place for our kids?

  • Keep in mind, a daycare can answer your questions the way you want them to, and they will, because it generates business. He needs to take a very close look at each center. Are the kids, clean, happy, healthy looking? are the teachers kind or yelling at the kids? are the kids running rampant everywhere or under control? It the weekly lesson plans posted and easy to read and actually being done? Are they being fed nutritious foods or do they bring own lunches? Are the nap mats/ beds cleaned each week and sheets sent home to be washed (if brought by child) are the bathrooms clean and maintained? Tables. floors? Outside toys in good repair and plenty of them? Is the daycare itself up to code?

All questions are important but sometimes you have to look beyond the obvious easy to give answers. daycares are just as desperate for your business as you are to use them, but be wise and choosy- this is where your kids are going to be!!
