My 1st baby was only 5 pounds (full term)...what's the chance of this one being little, too?

I'm just curious.

  • Was your baby born naturally or was he/she induced?
Were you/baby's daddy "smaller" at birth, or now?
    Are/were you healthy?

  • Naturally, I was smaller (don't know about his dad...) and I am still small now. And I was (am am) healthy. =)

  • That's actually pretty average. Not all babies weigh the same, I was 5lbs when I was born, my mom had a very healthy pregnancy and I am healthy. Too small is having a preemie, and a very dangerous situation.

  • Then I would guesstimate that your next baby will probably be on the smaller side, too.
Of course there is no law, here! ;-) But it is not likely that you'll have a 9 or 10 pounder, I'm thinking.

  • My first baby was 5 lbs 4 oz and my second was 7 lbs 9 oz. It's hard to say. They were both perfectly healthy!
