MY 11 yr old just started 6th grade and wants to wear make up....

should I say okay and help her put it on in the morning to prevent her looking like a clown or say NO and hope she does not try to do so herself at school?

  • Let her but help her apply it otherwise she's going to do it behind your back. Save your no's for more important issues.

  • What do you feel comfortable with? It is up to you as her mom.

I would not let mine wear make- up maybe a tinted gloss and that's it.

What does she want to wear?

  • I allow my 5th grader to wear lip gloss, clear and that is it. She came home one day from daycare and I about had a stroke the clown look she was wearing!

  • My daughter wants to wear eye shadow and lip gloss and mascara...
I in NO way want that... I said she could do lipgloss and mascara and ONLY if I apply it... but I am still up in arms over the whole thing.. she is so big for her age and so grown up I am trying to keep her my little girl for as long as I can

  • 11 is young and if she looks older than her age I would be a little concerned. She could easily be mistaken for an older girl and someone could try to take advantage of her.

If you are not comfortable then tell her No that you are only comfortable with the lip gloss and when she is 13 she can wear the other stuff
