How do you fast and does it help you lose weight?

  • There are many ways to fast. Some people forgo food and water alltogether for a day or two. Some only drink water. Some allow fruit juice or some crazy concoctions (like the Master Cleanse, on which you drink only a mixture of water, maple syrup, blackstrap molasses and cayanne pepper, blegh). Some allow small, bland foods like saltines. You do what you feel is right.

    Fasting can help jumpstart a diet but it shouldn't be used as a weightloss plan. It's dangerous if you don't do it right. talk to your doctor about it.

    Exercise and healthy food choices are best. Lots of water before you eat. fill up on water, don't eat anything after 6 or 7 at night until the next morning. Nothing. You will definitely lose if you don't eat after 7 p.m. and have a better eating plan.

  • fasting weight loss is only temporary. once you start eating again you gain the weight back plus some more because your body starts to think it is starving (which is what fasting is) and reserves calories as fat. a much better idea is to eat small, frequent meals, drink loads of water, and eat lots of fiber and veggies and lean protein. exercise is also essential to losing weight. good luck!

  • Fasting is VERY harmful to the body---messes up your metabolism---and once you start eating again, all the weight will be gained back within a few days. You just need to eat healthy foods and watch your PORTIONS!
