Mission Accomplished?

When I spoke here last winter, this nation was facing the worst economic crisis since the Great Depression. We were losing an average of 700,000 jobs per month. Credit was frozen. And our financial system was on the verge of collapse.

But thanks to the bold and decisive action we have taken since January, I can stand here with confidence and say that we have pulled this economy back from the brink. - Barack Obama

Is this Obama's Mission Accomplished? If the stimulus is helping, it may only artificially be holding the markets. If the economy goes back into the crapper again, will you all admit to this being Obama's equivalent of "Mission Accomplished"?

  • LOLOLOLOL Obviously to him it is. Funny how we were at the brink of disaster and in the same shape as we are now (minus the huge banks we just had to bail out that are now flush with our money) and yet now the recession is over. Nevermind we are still losing more than 1/2 a million jobs a week.
Obama is getting to be almost as bad a Biden. He is talking himself out of a job faster than any President in History.

  • No, because then he said "We are by no means out of the woods yet."

He didn't say everything is all better now. He said a lot of progress has been made.

  • Nobody can say the stimulus worked in regards to recovery when only 20% has been spent, you are contradicting yourself when you are in favor of what Obama did and his reasons for it with the stimulus package. And the average timespan for a recession is 18 months, what is that, July of 2009 and some economists have said we slowly began to come out of the woods in August of 2009, so there is yet another conservative I TOLD YOU SO for any braindead libturd.
The only Mission Accomplished Mr. Hussein can rally in, will be any furthering of social programs in this country and in my opinion he has already done plenty with that. That and encouraging young braindeads to believe Big Government is the way to go with anything from running the banking and auto industries to destroying healthcare. When he accomplishes the latter of those 3, he can say Mission Accomplished.

  • it is only artificial so far. That is why he says "We are by no means out of the woods yet."

giving money to Co. that should fail never works. Remember he said he learn from failing but he will not let his friends Co. fail???

  • The only reason the housing industry is improving is because INVESTORS are buying up properties for future resales and rentals, so don't even try to go there. The actual numbers for unemployment are closer to 14% and this is a great upward movement compared to Feb of 2009 when the stimulus money was supposed to start filtering "downward". NO PROGRESS HAS BEEN MADE, pull your head out of your black hole.
