Who is a member of their teen's school's PTA? Do you find it beneficial?

  • I am and yes, it is beneficial. I know what is going on in the school. I have a chance to get to know the teachers, principal, assistant principal, dean and other staff members. I even get to know the kids and have come to like spending time at my son's middle school.

  • Yes it is very beneficial to be a member. This way you will know first hand what is going on at your childs school.

  • I found that my daughter loved when I volunteered at her school - I tried PTA, and strangely, the PTA moms are somewhat. . . .not sure how to say it. . . . .competetive? possessive? controlling?
Anyway, I wasn't comfortable at the meetings and decided I would stick to straight up volunteering. . . .
So not trying to insult PTA moms!
