How can I get a grease drop removed from my Husbands favorite Football Jersery.

My husband let my 23 year brother borrow his favorite football jersery at a tailgate party for 25 mins at the most. Brother wanted to trade shirts. My brother goes of and ate some hot dog or Hamburger and a drop of grease went on the jersery. 60 dollars later. I know there has to be some good remedy out there. I don't want to ruin it further with what I might think is good. It is a dark hunter green jersery with this noticeble spot on the chest. Never hurts to ask. :)

  • When Hubby gets oil/grease from working in the shop I use fast orange, or gojo on it before it goes in the wash. It's a little abrasive so be careful. It will remove grease though.

  • Try rubbing liquid Dawn dish soap and water onto the stain (I use a nail brush), rinse and wash in cold water. Do not put the shirt in the dryer until the stain problem is resolved. The dryer will set the stain permanently.

  • Buy a new one. If its a fake jersey its probably only 40 bucks , if its real eh 175 at the most.

  • It looks like you have a lot of suggestions already. But something called lestoil always works to get oil stains out. I've found it at Meijers in the laundry department, I haven't been able to find it at Target or Wal Mart though, and I know there aren't Meijer's stores everywhere.

  • Dawn works every time for any grease on just about any item of clothing......they do actually use it on animals that were caught in an oil spill too, so, you know it has to work

  • A friend of mine got me hooked on this new eco-friendly stain remover called Winning Colours Stain Remover and it works on every stain I have had so far. I went to their website to find a store near me and used their store locator. Here is the link: You might enjoy seeing these videos too to see what it can do: , and
