  • Not at all. It's a polite phrase that I know has meaning to you.

  • Not at all. To me it's the same as "Have a good day!"

  • This has been gone over before. As before, in casual conversation it would not bother me, or many of my fellow atheists. However if it is used at the end of a rather "involved" dispute or in any condescending manner than that would bother me.

  • Those are two things I would never brand myself as, but - no, not at all. It's a nice gesture.

My MIL always says "god bless you" when I sneeze, doesn't bother me.

My daughter also has a book (one of her favorites) called 'In The Night Kitchen' and in that there is the line "God bless the milk, and God bless me." - I wouldn't not read her the book because it mentions god, I have no beef with the idea of god, I just personally wasn't brought up to believe in one.

  • Yes, it bothers me. I wish we could go back to the days when religion was a private matter.

  • No, I tell everyone Goddess Bless... I don't know why anyone would be offended... Well, wishings are well wishings!

  • Nope. However I am not a nonbeliever. I just don't believe in the Christian teachings.
