Will you hand out Halloween candy to just anyone, or only to kids?

I stopped ToT when I was about 11 because people stopped giving me as much candy as my other friends. I developed at age 9, so I looked "older" than my friends. It made me feel sad >:(

  • I have a rule - No costume, no candy. One year I had these bratty 13 yr old boys ride up to my door on their bikes. No costume and holding open their backpacks. They didn't even say trick or treat! I laughed and told 'em nope and shut the door. Christ. At least make a tiny bit of effort! LOL

  • I agree, as long as they are in costume, and I mean real costumes. One year a group of teens came to the door and the girls had teased their hair, put a lot of makeup on and drew fake hickies on their neck. I have no idea what they were trying to be but they just looked stupid. So if the people are in costume then they will get candy.

  • I give to all kids, adults that are dressed up. Even infants that come. If who ever takes the LO has only one bag I usually give a little extra and try to make a portion more suitable for baby. (I know parents like the candy too)

  • If they are dressed up they get candy. That's the rule at my house. Except for the little ones. I know sometimes little ones just get tired of wearing the costume or part of a costume so kids get a pass on having to be dressed up.

  • I'd rather give the bratty teens candy than get my house egged or TD'd!
