Strep B test?

What week did you ladies have your Group Strep B testing? Its been too long since I had mine with my son. lol. Thanks

  • I just had mines done on Thursday and I turned 36 weeks that day also.

  • i believe i was 32wks maybe 34 but it's different for every doctor some where between 32-36wks

  • yes around 32 weeks...i came up positive for it with my first dr...wich meant i had to be at the hospital within an hour after my water breaks so they could give me meds through the iv..i tested negative with the second child but they said if i tested positive with the first it could just be dormant...that it really never goes i had to have an iv with the second kid too.

  • hmmm... thanks ladies. I am 35 weeks, and still haven't had it done. I tested negative with my son so hopefully i will with her.

  • they don't normally do it if you've never had it before. At least my doctor's didn't.

  • i just had mine at 35 weeks :-/ after the exam hours later my mucus plug came out and i got all crampy and that gross brown blood was another little pest that came along after wards lol.. man im glad that exam is over with :-/ good luck

  • It's best done between 35 & 37 weeks of pregnancy because group B Strep carriage can come and go but test done around this time is hugely predictive for the next 5 or so weeks, so really should tell you whether you're likely to be carrying it or not during delivery.
