  • To bump a thread on an Internet forum is to post a reply to it purely in order to raise the thread's profile. This will typically return it to the top of the list of active threads.

  • Here on CafeMom, that only works in groups, not here in the answers forum. Moms will add an answer to their posts in hopes of putting their question to the top of the queue.

    Of course, there are people like me who work through a group from the oldest post first...bumping can delay your getting an answer!

  • What the other ladies have said. Bumping in groups are so others who might not have been able to see a certain post can see it.
