I'm confused with this sore throat?

My son had his tonsills taken out back in Feb. and he's been so great. No snoring, hasn't even been sick once! and for the last week he's been talking horse like and always sounds like he needs to clear his throat. I don't know i geuss i thought that when he got his tonsills taken out he wouldn't have problems with his throat anymore. He hasn't been running a fever or conplaining it's just the way he sounds. does anybody have any explanations?

  • If this is a change from after he recovered from his surgery, then he may have a cold or allergies or reflux or other problems. Since you don't know, it would be a good idea to get him checked.

  • Mine are out and I still get sore throats occasionally. This could also be allergies. Post nasal drip can cause sore throat.

  • Getting tonsil out will only stop the infection of the tonsils. He could still have other type of infections

  • It sounds like allergies: could be seasonal, could be dairy or another food.
