my doctors says i have a short cervix its 1.6 cm how does that affect my pregnancy ?

  • It doesn't really. Your cervix happens to be shorter than average, it doesn't necessarily mean a bad thing. The cervix will dilate for labor like everyone elses.

    They MAY want to monitor you for pre-term labor especially if you've have a second or third trimester miscarriage. A short cervix does not mean you will have preterm labor, just the chances may be higher. If that does happen they may, or may not suggest a cerclage -- its controversial partly because it is messing with the cervix -- so you may want to research short cervix, and also cerclage
