  • Some people have no symptoms, but most have one or more of the following:

an urgent need to urinate, often with only a few drops of urine to pass
a burning feeling when they urinate
    cloudy or blood-tinged urine
    strong odor to the urine.
If the infection spreads to the kidneys and becomes more severe, it may result in pain in the lower back as well as fever, chills, nausea and vomiting. See your doctor immediately if you have any of these symptoms.

  • With mine, it hurt, almost burned to pee. I didn't have back pain, but the doc said that if it moves from your bladder to your kidneys, then you will start feeling back pain.

If you only have stomach and back pain, I would lean towards the idea that it's something other than UTI.

  • pain in lower abdomen, really low,
foul smelling urine, cloudy urine, blood in urine, flank pain (in back either side down low) fever, nausea, frequent urination, painful or burning urination, confusion.

You won't have all these signs, and you wont get all of them right away, some of them are later on at the severe stage.
