how to get my 2 1/2 year old to go potty?

I have a newborn at home, and ever since my newborn, my 2 1/2 yr old stopped trying to go potty...

  • It sounds like the 2 yr old is envious of the spend time feeding the baby, rocking the baby, changing the baby. (S)he sees it as time that you don't spend with him/her. By wetting in their pants they are ensuring that mommy will have to spend time with them. Maybe incorporate the toddler into the infants schedule, holding the bottle, carrying the bottle, letting them help put the lid on, getting diapers/wipes/powder. While baby is feeding/nursing, read a book together.
