when u freeze meat.. like hamburger meat.. what do u use?

freezer bags.... what kind? foil...how and with what do u freeze ur meat?

  • I usually use ziploc freezer bags! I also usually do it in 1 pound portions...because that is what most recipes call for!

  • I use ziploc freezer bags. And I make sure to get as much air out as possible. I always buy the family packs of ground beef because you save so much money!

  • I wrap it in saran wrap, then a freezer bag NOT with the fancy zipper but a regular ziploc bag. Or if you have a vaccum seal, those are great.

  • i always use freezer bags that to me is the best way to avoid freezer burn and save space in your freezer

  • any brand of freezer bags, mostly ziplock bc i shop at sams. 1lbs portions. i used to use foil, but stuff wouldnt last long enough so i started with the freezer bags.

  • I'm totally anal. I wrap it in parchment, then foil, then put it in a labeled ziploc...lol

  • I use a vacuum sealer. My goal is to get my chest freezer almost completely stocked with meat, and vacuum sealed lasts longer. The only other thing that goes in the chest freezer is veggies. The small freezer is for fruits, breakfast foods (homemade pancakes, waffles, etc.), and dessert stuff. The breakfast stuff also gets vacuum sealed.

  • For pork chops, chicken, tenderloin- I use foil, then a Ziploc bag (buy them in bulk at Sam's Club) When I freeze venison, I use freezer paper-tape it, then put into a Ziploc bag.
