Why is being educated a 'bad' thing?

I have never understood why (usually) Democrats are labeled as elitists because of their educations. I'm pretty sure Republican politicians attend the same Ivy League type schools; don't they?

Who wouldn't want to attend an elite school if they had the opportunity? Why is being educated considered a 'bad' thing? Why would you want to label your followers as morons? I don't get it?

"Speaking at a massive rally of his so-called 9/12 Project in Washington, D.C., Fox News host Glenn Beck called today for stricter limits on the nation's IQ.
"Barack Hussein Obama would like to see our country's IQ rise - just like our taxes!"
The conservative host proposed capping the nation's IQ "somewhere in the low seventies" and putting tight restrictions on the number of multisyllabic words allowed in the country.
Overall, Mr. Beck seemed to revel in the turnout of his 9/12 rally, which he called "The Million Moron March."

  • We need a minimum IQ limit before people are allowed to read The Onion. Obviously OP wouldn't make the cut.

Now WHY in the WORLD would someone want to pay the pay the costs of those ivy legue schools, work their BUTTS off to get great grades and a a great career ONLY to be told when they get out Weeeeeellllllll if you make TOOO much we are going to tax the hell out of you AND we think that you need to have a cap on your earnings. HHHmmmmm, you think MAYBE thats what Beck was talking about?? Lets just keep us ALL at a low level, because working hard only gives your stuff to those that dont!

  • It wasn't from the Onion thank you - it was a first hand account from a witness' blog post.

And if that's sarcasam; then something got lost in the translation. That would only make sense if he were skewing the oppositions view and last time I checked the other side wasn't making any such claims.

Stop and listen for a momentto what he says. Don't follow blindly because he's "your guy". It's ok to say; you don't agree with every word that falls from these media whore's mouths. It won't mean you're a bad conservative...just a free thinking one.
