Do you vaccum or mop first?

I usually vaccum but today I am thinking about mopping first since my DD is sleeping and I don't want to wake her with the vaccum. Will it still get as clean mopping first?

  • Try sweeping with a broom first, then mop. It's much quieter than vacuuming.

  • If you have a really good microfiber mop, then you could probably just mop and it would pick up all of the hair & grit and stuff. But, if you have a regular mop, then the mop is only going push all that stuff around and the hair will get all sticky from being wet and just make more of a mess for you to clean up later. Instead of mopping w/o sweeping, I would do as a previous poster said and use a broom or swiffer type thingy to try to get up at least all of the hair & crumbs first.
