What to do

My 6 year old daughter is constantly talking in school and getting in trouble not minding. We have grounded her from games and tv and thats not working what else should I do?

  • I would talk to her and see if its because shes bored, shemay not be getting challenged enough, also find out from the teacher in what part of the day shes doing it, if its after lunch it may be an excess of energy and if its earlier in the morning she may be tired and want to be contrary. Sit down with the teacher and counselor and find out the root of the problem and then make a team plan to fix it!!

  • send in workbooks, reading books, coloring pages, etc for her to do with free time. talk to her about WHY it needs to be quiet. observe the class to be sure the expectations are reasonable and consistent between kids. is she young for the grade? a lot of kids too immature for their placement in the grades struggle with proper behavior ... they arent ready to be mature yet?
