  • My son was about 5 months when he started, but he didn't really get into it until about 8 months. That's when he started enjoying and looking forward to the baby food; but even then he preferred his bottle until close to a year.

  • my son is 4 months he's eating rice cereal in his bottle can I try feeding it to him with a spoon in a bowl? he can't sit up quite yet by himself unless there's something behind him for support

  • tried rice at 5 months...for a few days...he didnt take to it, waited a week, tried again...he was able to move it around and swallow but he did not like it. I tried sweet potatoes and he loves them. He laughs and grunts and looks like hes reaching for the bowl. He opens his mouth wide when the spoon is at his lips and sticks his tounge out far and then pulls the food back in...hes working on it but hes ready..i wouldn't keep giving him food if he wasnt ready .judge your baby you will know.

  • I HAD to start both of my kids on cereal at about 3 months. If I hadn't, I'd never have gotten any sleep since I was a single mother with both of them and they still weren't sleeping thru the night. I'm so glad I did.... It was the best thing for all 3 of us.
