question about formula fed babies

i am babysitting a 5 month old little girl tonight (overnight) and i was wondering how often is *normal* for a formula fed infant wak up a night? i breastfed my dd and co-slept so there was no "getting up" to feed her. thanks

  • Usually formula fed babies sleep a little longer than breasfed babies but all are different. My son was waking up maybe 2 times a night (between 7pm-7am) when he was 5 months.

  • At five months my DS, well both of them, both formula fed, would sleep several hours between feedings... a lot of the time through the night. Did the mom not give you any idea of what the baby's scedule was like? I'd ask so you are not totally clueless.

  • She'll probably wake up once or twice. Especially since she is used to cereal in her bottle.

  • There is no normal. Every child is different. Only her mother can answer this question.
