My son is Constipated and he is 5 months old...

The Dr. said give him juice. So I bought apple juice, how much do I give him and how many times a day? Do I water it down?? He drinks water but I really don't want him to be addicted to juice.

  • Yes, water it down. He probably won't like it if its not anyways 'cause it'll be so sweet. Just probably 1 or 2 times a day, its up to you how much you want to give him, but give it to him until he goes to the bathroom regularly.

  • have you added cereal to his diet?

How do you know he is constipated?

I would give organic prunes, applesauce or pears.

  • Symptoms? Diet? How long since last BM? What are the BM's like? True constipation in infants is rare. It's defined as dry, hard, pellet like bowel movements.
