sore on butt

my son has what looks like some kind of sore on his bottom, hes 3 months. it sits right where the diapers elastic sits. last week he did have to wear parents choice diapers b/c we had a financial emergency and couldn't get him his normal pampers swaddlers. its about the size of his pinkie nail w/2 little ones right next to it (it almost looks like a healing burn, w/the way the scab part is) it isn't open, at least not now, was slightly open yesterday but put some neosporin and diaper rash cream over it to protect it and looks better. he goes in for his well baby next fri, and i've called the doc, he said as long as its not wide spread its just the one spot it was probably just a reaction to the diapers he had last week. anyone else's baby do this? my dd never had this problem, now that she is a little older i've noticed if i use anything other than pampers or huggies she will get a rash. but she never had any kind of CONT

  • Since you used a different diaper, it may not be what the diaper is made of, it could have been the way it fit - it is possible that it rubbed the wrong way or the elastic pinched a little or something and he ended up getting a blister.

  • sores on her bottom, if she gets rash's she gets a little red sometimes will get some bumps if its not noticed right away. so this is different for me, doc said not to worry about taking him in for it unless it gets worse. so i'm just curious any ideas?

  • I use aloe gel on my DD. You can usually find it with the sunburn relief/sunscreen. Make sure it is just aloe. That clears up any aggravated areas in no time.

  • thanks mrsace, i never even thought of that, and i do know it wasn't as stretch as his normal ones. i think that is probably it, b/c his bottom isn't red or anything and if it was the whole diaper, seems it'd be more of a reaction to it.
