Where do Psychics who use their gift to solve crimes get this information from?

If, as some people think, pschics are evil and to be avoided, how do you explain them doing GOOD and helping to solve crimes?

  • I don't believe Psychics are evil! If they can help with a crime what does it matter where they get the information from?

  • I'm betting that the majority of people who think that psychics are evil also believe that the criminals will be judged later and that that judgment is far more important than any judgment man can make anyway.

  • just because something is perceived as sinful doesn't mean a good out come can't seemingly come out of it. it's a way to keep us diluted from truth..and it encourages continual disobedience of God who says do don't practice astrology or the likes. God had forbidden it while the devil who is the worst enemy makes it seem fair-seeming. it's a delusion. It is said that the person who transgresses the bounds is kept blindly transgressing. so for the person there is no good in it for them even though it seems like they are doing a good thing.

  • Deuteronomy 18:20-22 ESV / 3 helpful votes
But the prophet who presumes to speak a word in my name that I have not commanded him to speak, or who speaks in the name of other gods, that same prophet shall die.’ And if you say in your heart, ‘How may we know the word that the Lord has not spoken?’— when a prophet speaks in the name of the Lord, if the word does not come to pass or come true, that is a word that the Lord has not spoken; the prophet has spoken it presumptuously. You need not be afraid of him.

  • The Catechism of the Catholic Church is also powerfully clear on the topic:

"All forms of divination are to be rejected: recourse to Satan or demons, conjuring up the dead or other practices falsely supposed to ’unveil’ the future. Consulting horoscopes, astrology, palm reading, interpretation of omens and lots, the phenomenon of clairvoyance, and recourse to mediums all conceal a desire for power over time, history, and, in the last analysis, other human beings, as well as a wish to conciliate hidden powers. They contradict the honor, respect, and loving fear that we owe to God alone.

  • Psychics are not immediately evil simply because they have the gift of sight. Evil implies knowledge of doing wrong and doing it anyway with the intention for evil. However, if they do not serve God, they are not getting their information from him. Therefore, could their information source be "evil?" That very well may be; but it doesn't make them evil. According to Rabbinical legend (which I know you're interested in IhartU :-) ), Eve was not only decieved once but twice; once before the fall and once after. The second time the devil dressed as an "angel of light," pretending to be one of God's angels (I believe it was most likely the Archangel Michael that he "dressed himself" as) and kept her from fully repenting from her sin and seeking God's forgiveness by giving her false direction.

Now of course, The Books of Adam and Eve are not reliable sources (for multiple reasons) but they do go to show you (cont.)

  • what some individuals long ago thought about angels vs. fallen angels and how the fallen angels lead others, unknowingly, astray. A person being lead astray isn't evil. Even if they use their gift for good, it does not therefore make their information source "good." What's most important to demons is to keep a soul in disbelief, not whether or not crimes get solved. If validating your gift and giving you acurate visions validates your belief in anything else but God, they've served their purpose.

Now I speak in general terms here. There are many different methods in getting supernatural information from another plane of existence, so to speak. I'm not going to sit here and generalize entire groups of people and say where they get their information from and label it "evil." I'm just giving possible scenarios of how I feel SOME people MIGHT get their info.
