The White House has used "czars" since the Reagan years. Why is it only a problem now?

  • ACTUALLY....since the Nixon years! President Nixon had a Drug Czar,for example. He was a long time before Reagan. I don't see what the big deal is with it either. I think some people think Czar means "Russian"...LOL. It just means "someone who is in charge".....but, oh well. Anything they can grab onto in order to criticize our President, ya know. @@

  • many of the "czars" that are being fretted about have already been confirmed by the Senate, hold positions that were created by the Congress, or are just people who have been arbitrarily named a "czar" despite the fact that they are actually State Department envoys or Deputy Secretaries of the Interior, like "California Water Czar" David Hayes.   • Because Obama-haters will cook up the most ridiculous reasons to justify their hatred. Differences in opinion on policy are one thing but most of those opposed to him hate him as much for his color & ethnicity as his politics.

  • The difference is that in the past they have been advisors and now they are actually writing policy.

    In the past some of the positions were temporary. BO's aren't temporary.
