Can I use my blood from my menstural cycle and donate it?

You know when you donate blood, can you use a Diva cup and donate it?
Im thinking about bringing it in and donating it. have you ever done this?

  • OP ~ Not only can you not donate it because of endometrial tissue being mixed in the blood, but once the blood exits the body it begins to coagulate, making it useless for anything. Also, without blood being taken from the body in a sterile fashion, the blood could be tainted with whatever is in the environment.
It's a good question, though, because I'm sure there are plenty of other women out there who may have wondered the same thing.
I have always believed there is no such thing as a stupid question.

  • Because it's not JUST blood. It's endometrial linning. That and it's been sitting inside the Uterus for a month.

  • There are other fluids and tissues besides blood in your menstrual flow. You can't donate it at a blood bank.
