  • Everytime he starts to get down, turn him around and say "Feet first", you'll have to do it over and over but eventully he'll get it.

  • Turn that lil body around. Show him to go down the way he got up. Demonstrate that he must go feet first. Talk to him & tell him what to do, he will listen.

  • i finally got my son to get off couch like suggested above, but he wont use the same method to get down the stairs!! (i have two larger landing type stairs i let him climb but gate off the rest). i turn him around on those and he just throws a fit. hopefully he'll get it soon!

  • When he starts to take a dive head first, stop him and turn him around. Just let him know that he should get off the couch like this and let him wiggle off the couch feet first. Seeing as he's walking and climbing at such a young age, he should catch on pretty quickly. But just keep repeating it with him, but showing him how he should get off the couch. Tell him "No, not head first" and turn him around, then explain as you show him how to get off.
