What's that thing on the singer's ears when they are performing live?

  • There is a lot of echo and feed back and for a live preformer to stay on beat and pitch they need to hear what the audiance hears, thus an ear piece.

  • Are you asking about an earpiece monitor? In live performance, singers need a monitor to hear themselves over the general noise on stage, so they can tell if they've gone off-pitch.

  • a microphone or tiny speaker, I think- so they can hear any feedback
