  • $700!! you must make a lot of money! my DH gets paid every 2 weeks, but only about $100 comes out for taxes, both fed & state. i only get paid once a month & since i only work 2-3 days a month my taxes are usually $10-20.

  • We pay about 15+k in taxes a year. That averages to about $690 every two weeks. We get money back at the end of the year.

  • My husband monthly pay is 8230 his actual take home is 5600. We do have 300 taken out for health and life insurance, another 400 is taken out for 401k. So we pay 1930 in federal, state and other taxes.

  • Married w/5 exemptions--last LES 62 cents. As far as state goes, he claims TN as his state so he does not pay state taxes. I don't count Medicare and Social Security as taxes, but deductions. Those equal $210. So technically, we should be more angry that $210 goes to programs that we may or may not have when we need them than less than a dollar taken out for federal taxes.

  • I count Medicare and SS as taxes. The aren't saving it for you, they are paying it to some other guy. And if you die single before you can collect, it's gone, gone, gone.

  • It all depends on how much you make and how many dependants you have claimed. Claim more, get more in your chedk, Claim less, get it back at teh end of teh year. You will have less taken out. If you claim single/married and none they take the most out but you get alot back on your tases.
My dh brings home about $2000 (without OT and after all savings and deductions) They take about $450 out claiming married and 1. This last check he worked alot of OT and they took out over $1000

  • I get $1K deducted per month. That covers federal and state income taxes, FICA, SSI and disability. But I'm also only claiming one deduction to make sure we don't underpay on the taxes. We've been burned before.
