If you make your own baby food, how do you do it?

I've only done fruit because I only have a blender and I can use apple sauce as a good liquid like mixer.

  • You boil bake or steam them before you bled them, then they are mushy.

  • I used a hand blender - much easier to clean.

And I just blended up veggies, fruits, soups - whatever....a popular one was blending veggies with mashed potatoes so the grown-up could eat it too ;)

  • How do you blend a veggie, they are so tough.

  • I mashed everything with a fork or used my little chopper. But we never went down to almost liquid; we started with fairly chunky stuff at six months.

  • Avocado mashed with a fork; baked sweet potato mashed with a fork; I have a mini-food processor that works very well for pureeing steamed vegetables.
