  • my six month old weighs 24lbs. He is the only 6 month old I know who wears 12-18 month clothes. He weighed 21lbs at his 4 month appointment so he's slowed down a little.

  • My 5 mo weighs 18.7 lbs...and she wears 9 month clothes. And I found out that girl sizes are different than boy sizes...go figure..society starts them out young thinking that being small is better.

  • It depends on how big they were at birth... My oldest was 9lbs 5ozs at birth. So by 6 months he was almost 30lbs.

By youngest is 2 year and doesn't weigh that much... So it would depend on a number of things. DOn't worry about the number so much, just about his or her growth... As long as they are in keeping with their own growth patterns until this point, you are fine

  • There isn't a "perfect" weight.

It depends on how much he weighed at birth, how much weight he lost after birth, how much he weighed at 1 month, 2 months, 3 months, 4 months, 5 months and 6 months.

Bottom line, if your doctor isn't worried, you shouldn't be worried. As long as he's growing on her own curve, then he's fine.

By the way, my son is 2 years and 5 months and he only weighs 22 pounds. But he started out at 5lbs 4oz and lost down to 4lbs 10oz and has been growing on his own curve from there. He's a little guy, but he always has been.
