Can having irregular menstral cycles give a false positve on a test?

I just recently got a positve (very immediate two dark pink lines). I have had times where my period has been very irregular so I am just wondering if this could be a factor. Thanks. Btw, I am approx. 5 weeks along by estimate.

  • This is my first positive btw. Also, the reason I took the test was not because of a missed period but because of how I was drained of energy all the sudden and coud not get enough sleep. Also I had been feeling pretty icky as well.

  • No. You are way more likely to get a false neg than positive. IF you have 2 pink lines come up dark and fast then you are pg! Congrats!

  • I was very highly energetic before and don't feel wiped out with pms to the point of exhaustion.

  • You are preggers. The blue box I forgot the name has the highest amount of material used to detect pregnancy. Usually if it is wrong it is negative, but if it is positive, you are pregnant!Congrats tickled pink.
