How many Gods share their name with a food?

In doing the ABC's of religion a few mins ago I realized there are lots of Gods and Foods that have the same name...

examples: Nut- Egyptian Sky Goddess and Yam Cannanite God of the Oceans

Anyone know of more?

  • That is so funny Sabrina! To be honest my first thoughts with Yam were something like this:

    "Hmmm . . . maybe the pagans use yams in their ceremonies? or they eat yams on full moons? Or maybe yams are for good luck, and you can wear it around your neck or put a piece in your pocket? Maybe they keep evil spirits away? OH WAIT, remember the Nut? Maybe Yam is a God?!!!! You should ask!!!"

    While you are reaching, pass some down. :O) I lived off Baby Pan Pan pizzas from Little Caesar's when I was pregnant with my son. And Pan was always one of my favorites in the Greek Pantheon.
