  • Every individual is born with a sin nature. To what degree they allow Satan to take them is a combination of factors in their circumstances and their choices. A sin nature and free will are not exclusive.

  • There are various circumstances. I think in some cases there are those people who are truely mentally ill. And then there are those who are not and their are so many factors. I don't believe in the devil made me do it, but I do believe that the devil will try to influence us with our thoughts. Have you ever had a thought that seemed so outrageous and you sat their and went what the heck? Where did that come from? Well sometimes people tend to dwell on those thoughts. I don't think the media helps at all, with all the blood and gore that are in movies today. I do feel those contribute to some of the problems. We also open doors to various "spirits" in our lives good and bad. It is not a black and white issue. There is just so many factors.

  • first of all not all children who kill animals become serial killers.

More often than not its a door that has been opened in their life. and yes demons are influencial. Yes they have a choice.
How they were treated as children, were they taught how to love and be compassionate to others. Did the parents show love by giving them things or what not. Children who are raised with knowing who they are and that they are loved are more stable than those that are not. That is not to say all children but the majority yes. What were they exposed to, who raised them... the list goes on.

  • Individuals with Anti-Social Personality Disorder (aka Psychopathy or Sociopathy) are generally felt to be born without conscience. They generally do not have the ability to experience remorse nor anticipation anxiety. They are able to LEARN right from wrong but the built-in sensory affects that most of us feel when we consider the morality of an action just aren't there. It's estimated that 4% of all people are Sociopathic (paraphrasing Dr. Martha Stout, one of my favorite authors) but not all Sociopaths will be involved in the type of behavior you described. Many times the behavior it is brought out by experiencing extreme childhood abuse and trauma, having an accident affecting the nervous system or low inteligence or severe mental illness (or a combination of these things).

  • Before anyone yells at me, Anti-social is a rare diagnosis and trauma, low IQ, mental illness etc. are NOT indicative that someone WILL become violent or harmful. We're talking about rare instances here coupled with severe indicators of Anti-Social behavior and multiple dual-diagnoses. Also Anti-Social does not describe people who have social anxiety or dislike social settings/people --those dx's have nothing to do with this personality disorder, though often confused because of the title "Anti-Social."

Yes, Sociopaths have a choice and free will. Most, if not affected by severe mental illness or trauma, have the ability to learn to avoid unnacceptable behaviors and actions with or without conscience. Yes, they are responsible for their actions. Can the devil influence them more easily? Perhaps. Many of the most twisted and famous Sociopaths that we know of had a very bizarre view of religion.

  • I believe that it's the nature of sin and the fall of manhood. Technically, we are all born sinners and are damned to hell. The elect are those chosen by God to be redeemed from the fate of hell. "There's not one good, not one." Theoretically, those acts could be committed by anyone who is born, and God prevents those behaviors from some, and not others because of His sovereign will to accomplish what He desires.
