Digital TV change over, anyone else still in the dark ages?

OK, I had rabbit ears on my old tv, and could get several local channels. I bought the new converter, and at first I was able to get one public broadcasting channel, but then I fooled around with it, trying to get more and I now get nothing, zip, nada.

LOL, I am asking Santa for a new digital tv for christmas. (PS, I AM my OWN Santa!)

Anyone else in the same boat? LOL, my son has a very good friend who works for Radio Shack and HE said I just need a new tv....very sad.....

  • Has anyone tried out and I also use the Philips HDTV Antenna. Then there are all the channels that broadcast on their web sites. You need to re-Scan because they are still working on the new broadcast antennas. Some times I get 5 stations sometimes 30, most I do not like but as long as I get a local news I'm OK. I just stay on the Internet .

  • My friend had the exact same problem! Her tv was one of those floor types that her and her husband bought about 20 years or so ago. Well, she used to get 3 channels with rabbit ears, but only 1 with the converter. Her husband finally had enough and had satellite installed, much to her dismay. He's saving for a new tv now, too.

  • I have tried hulu, but I never heard of the others. Thanks a lot!!! :) I'm glad.  Try out I spend most of my time there, do not by a new set not worth it yet. Your welcome, learning to live well while spending less . lost job and now have short term job and small business in CA where things are real bad, preparing for being without. got rid of land line no cable and so on. PS in the process I saved 200 plus per month.
