is it normal for a 7 month olds formula intake to decrease already?

my dd would usually drink 4 six to eight oz bottles a day. one at 8, 12, 4, and 9. now shes only drinking 3 to 4 oz at each feeding. she gets a stage 2 container after breakfast, lunch, and dinner. and maybe 2 or 3 oz of juice for the whole day. i just didnt think their formula intake should decrease that much. we try to get her to eat the rest but she just wont. she cries and fusses until we leave her alone.

  • do you feed her the bottle before or after she eats solids??. That seem to be to little. My daughter who is 11 months, get 3 8oz bottles per day. We are working on taking out the afternoon one now. But solid food should always come second to the bottle. You want her to get her proper nutrients because she doesn't eat well balanced meal yet. If she is getting the bottle before, i would talk it over with your PED, put as along as she continues to have frequent wet and soiled diapers, it might be normal for her. I would just talk to your PED just to be sure.

  • I would drop the juice and see if she'll take that extra 2-3 ounces in formula instead. There's very little nutritional benefit from juice and way too much sugar for a 7 month old to be drinking every day. Formula would be a much better use of those calories, especially since she's been cutting back.

  • if she's eating solids than yes her formula will decrease. We always gave half a bottle then some food than offered the bottle again.
