  • If you brush with strawberries you will burnish the acid from the fruit into your teeth and they will stain and decay.
If you mean a professional cleaning - it cannot be done at home.
I'm a dental hygienist. When you have your teeth cleaned in the office we remove the hard deposits that form on your teeth and remove superficial stain only. It's important to remove the hard deposits - when you neglect this eventually you will begin to show signs of periodontal disease.
Teeth are not always milky white naturally. The easiest way to explain it is if your car is blue after you wash your car it is still going to be blue.

  • growing up we used baking soda & peroxide every other day (we were poor & it helped stretch the toothpaste). i have never had any teeth problems. i skipped out on the dentist (not suggesting this!) for 3 years and when i went in last month the dentist still told me i had the nicest teeth he's ever seen. dunno if its genes (my moms teeth are horrid!) or the baking soda...either way its good stuff!
