  • Not at all. The world would be a better place if everyone practiced what Christ taught. Love God with all your heart and all your mind and love your neighbor as yourself.

  • The world would be a better place if we didn't judge people because of their religion.

  • I don't need God to love my neighbor as myself. It's called Respect. As for the world being a better place without religion. No people will just find new excuses..

If not a deity they would have been fought in the name of something or someone else. Religion was just a convenient excuse to weed out what some people considered "undesirables" and feel justified about it.

  • No I think quite the opposite actually. Yes there is a lot of fighting and turmoil because people cannot accept others and their beliefs but there are many people out there who, because of their religion, love others and accept others because God tells them to. Without religion in the world we would all be just a bunch of sorry people.

  • Even though some wars are fought in the name of religion, and some wars are justified (brave heroes standing up to mean bullies, LOL).

The Bible says, "Where do wars and fights come from among you? Do they not come from your desires for pleasure that war in your members?" James 4:1. Even so called holy wars are fought because of greed.

We will always have war, because we will always have people that are selfish (religious or not).

  • And I completely agree with KristiS. Fighting is in our nature. If we weren't fighting about religion we'd be fighting about something else. World Peace is unrealistic.

Eh, good point there. If there wasn't religion we'd find something else to bitch about :D
