Question about hair color developer.

I have some 20 volume developer from about 4 weeks ago, and it's a 4 oz, I only used 1 oz of it. Can you use developer after it's been stored after opening?

  • I think it says that after opening it, and if you don't use all of it the same 1 hour period of using it, to throw it away.

  • If its just developer then yes you can use it. If you've already mixed color with it then no. As long as it isnt mixed and is closed then it hasnt oxygenated.

  • if it is still milky white and not the least bit discolored yes you can use it same with color. If not then we salon owners are screwed when it comes to buying developer in bulk. If it smells bad or if the old hair color has turned dark run to the nearest trash bucket and toss that sucker.
