What happens if a home inspection doesn't go well??

Can I get my earnest money back and walk?

  • yes. my understanding is if the home does not pass inspectin, or does not appraise at the amount agreed on, then you can get you earnest money back and walk

  • yes, if it fails the health and safety part(working smoke detectors, escape windows that open and close etc) the sellers are required to fix it before the bank will finalize your loan.
