  • The United States had an estimated 5.5 million “stay-at-home” parents last year — 5.4 million moms and 98,000 dads, according to a report released today by the U.S. Census Bureau. It contains the Census Bureau’s first-ever analysis of stay-at-home parents.

  • Not sure but I am one of them... a new home business is started at a rate of every 6 seconds... that is the last statistic I have... most people have had the hard lesson that more than one stream of income is better (and safer) than having all their eggs in one basket. The cost of travel, childcare and day to day expenses have opened the way for home based business's to thrive. The internet holds several turnkey business opportunities that will allow moms and dads to stay home and have the possitive influence on their children while making a good living at home. If you are one of those stay at home parents - Welcome!

  • I think you are looking at the percent backwards. If you are a SAHM and you are the only responce then you are 1/1 or 100%. I'm not. So that bumps it down to 4/5 or 80%. :) But this site alone is a bit skewed towards the SAHM market. Do SAHD count?
