  • My husband turned to electric cigarettes as a stop-smoking aide. One great thing about the kind he bought is that the end blinks if you have been taking in to much nicotine in too short a time frame. He ignored it until he started to feel really sick!

  • First of all, the end does NOT blink if you take in too much nicotine. That is a myth. It blinks when the battery is dying.

Second, nicotine is no worse for you than caffeine or high fructose corn syrup - and those are found in a LOT of products. The reason nicotine gets such a bad rap is because it keeps people SMOKING and smoking is deadly and invasive to those around you. Look up nicotine alone and you'll see they are even finding some medicinal uses for it (absent cigarettes.)

Electronic cigaretees (otherwise known as Personal vaporizers) do NOT have the thousands of extra chemicals tobacco cigarettes have and only TRACE amounts of some bad stuff in a couple brands. Most only contain WATER, PROPYLENE GLYCOL, NICOTINE & FLAVORING. And NO, propylene glycol is not a dangerous ingredient in anti-freeze. That is DIETHYLENE GLYCOL. Propylene glycol is used to make imitation vanilla, toothpaste, etc.
