Do you think it would be fair for dads to get maternity leave?

  • My work offers it! It is EXACTLY the same as materinity leave. I didn't realize it wasn't a universal thing, and I don't think that any work and discriminate.. I mean, he may have to go without pay, but that is the same with a mom.

  • my SO gets time off! up to 12 weeks, he's only taking 6, but the first three weeks will be paid! i'm very happy & def know i'm lucky

  • Dads are included in the family medical leave act if they work for an employer of over 50 people, and entitled to up to 12 weeks off. It doesn't have to be paid though. And realistically although they are bonding with the new baby too, they aren't recovering from a physical ordeal like a new mom is.

  • YES! i was so pissed when i had my baby and i had to stay home and i needed the help from him! He's a parent too!

  • my hubby does he gets up to a month i believe but only gets paid for one week so hes only going to take two he works for the national guard thought... they pretty much always hook you up when it comes to the fam bam :-)
