  • sorry.... didnt get o finish.... the flu tests this year show whether the patient has type a or type b... if you test positive for type a they treat you as though it is swine flu because swine flu is a type a flu the only way to know if it is actually swine flu is to have a specimen sent to the state lab and results take 24-48 hours... so you hear all these people say they went to the dr and have swine flu when in fact they have type a flu....... there really is no difference... if any just stronger symptoms... what people forget is that influenza kills hundreds even thousands of people every year! hope they're feeling better!!

  • Don't be afraid to ask for a flu test. Doctors around here are blowing people off by saying it's just a bug and it will pass. Demand a test. You don't have to go to the emergency room, you can get checked out at any urgent care center. The test consists of either blowing your nose into a test tube or having your mouth swabbed. My husband's nephew just came home from the hospital. Admitted Saturday, was told to go home Sunday - as soon as he walked outside, he had chills. Had a 103 fever - morons!

  • It doesn't matter; you can call it George. It is just a virus; treat the symptoms and let it run its course.

  • The symptoms are the same, if you have mild symptoms you do not need any medication other than tylenol to get the fever down.
