Laws about children sleeping in the same room?

Hey mamas. I just had a quick question. I have read a lot of posts in the last few days about laws about children sleeping in the same room... Where can I find information on this?

I had no idea there were laws about this kind of thing.

  • Hi Im sure it varies state to state. Also if you own your own home I dont think there is an issue but some apartment complexes and if you are on the housing program you have to abide by the rules.

  • Those laws are for kids in the system (families involved in DFS and foster kids). They don't apply to regular families. No one can tell you how your kids can sleep.

  • I would guess that those are rules set for families in the system. Also, wthin the military, you are allowed bedrooms by the ages and sex of the children. They add 3 years to the ages of your kids and after the age of 6, you are allowed a bedroom for children of opposite sexes. Since we have a 4 year old, she's over 6 when you add 3 years to her age, and we should be in a 3 bedroom.
