  • pin the number on the car? Draw a car, and make racing numbers, use doubl"pin" the number on the car. Even the one year old should get it (although I probably wouldn't blindfold them like you do other kids)

  • have them race cars go to the grocery store (before 10pm usually) ask for boxes theyre usually willing to give them for free and make cars out of them, poke some holes in them tie some string and hang it off of their shoulders and they can race each other.

  • Honestly, at a year old, the kids probably won't cooperate in games anyway... With my son's first birthday, we had a theme (for the decorations, paper plates, etc), but other than that, the kids just played on my swing/play set in the back yard, or in the sandbox. At that age, they don't really comprehend the whole "games" thing, or even how to play with each other. It's mostly side by side play.

  • Oh, and a moon bounce house is NOT safe for 1-year-olds!

  • Well you definitely gotta have them watch the movie Cars :).

I googled for some ideas, most seem to be for older kids, but found some that seem appropriate for 1 year olds :) Hope this helps

Place a plain, white, disposable tablecloth on the floor of the party area or across a table. Use black markers to draw roads going in different directions across the tablecloth. Add stop signs, yield signs, traffic lights, etc., using bright-coloring markers. Set a number of toy cars and trucks on the road and allow your guests to play with them during the party.

Use car- and truck-shaped cookie cutters to cut out cookies, sandwiches, and cheese slices.

Serve chips, cookies, trail mix, and other snacks in the back of clean toy dump trucks.

  • Make cars out of fruit by cutting different melons into rectangular strips for the body of each car, and then using a melon baller to make wheels. Attach the wheels to the cars with toothpicks, crossing them to look like wheel axles.

Use a round cookie cutter or the top of a glass to cut out green, yellow, and red ‘Traffic Light’ Jell-O Jigglers.

Here's the link I got the above info from, and there are more links at the bottom of the page to other sites that seem pretty cool for games :).
