Can your pms symptoms change?

I havehad my period for 12 years. My symptoms have always been cramping, bloating, and being extremely cranky. For some reason this month, my breasts are super sore, I've been cramping for over a week. I keep thinking that my period will start but so far nothing. I had my tubes tied almost a year ago so I don't figure I'm pregnant, but what scares me is that pregnancy is the only time my breasts get sore. So does anyone know if your PMS symptoms can change?
