i dont want to change my last name even though i'm married

i just dont want to give up that part of me, and making my middle name my maiden name is not an option since not only is my last name a boys name, my initials would be ASS lol....

he siad he would rather me keep my maiden name then hyphenate it... what are your thoughts and what did you do?

  • I still have my last name. We are just too lazy to go do it! LOL Not a big deal to change it! We have been married for a year and a half! I will eventually when I feel like standing in line for an hour!! LOL!

  • If he is totally supportive of you not changing it then don't. But I would talk to him and ask how he feels.

  • I changed my name, but just keep your maiden name. My mom did when she remarried. She finally changed it....after almost 7 years of marriage. But it was for other reasons.

  • I changed my married last name. I just made a last name up and also changed my child's last name. My DH had an offensive last name that I took when we got married, but then had a change of heart. I took a derivitive of his last name and a few months later he changed his. I wouldn't have changed my last name at all, but it was just too offensive.

  • I didn't change my name when I got married. I was married before and took my first husband's name, then I got divorced and changed my name back. I did not want to change my name again when I got married. It's also a part of me I want to keep.
